While we loved the chic, retro design of this purifying fan, it fell flat during our lab tests. We found that even on the highest setting, you could only feel a breeze when standing within 7 feet of it, and the perforated grate on the front of the fan created a dead space with no breeze in the center. Given its hefty price tag, we didn’t feel this product was worth the money.
Lasko Fan and Space Heater Tower Combo
This tower fan caught the attention of our testers, and it nearly made our list for its bladeless design and powerful, four-speed range. We found it to be made from sturdy materials with an intuitively designed digital display, and on its highest setting, we could feel the breeze up to 20 feet away. However, it was quite difficult to carry, and the manufacturer instructions recommend cleaning this fan’s filter every two weeks, which seemed unrealistic and time-consuming to make it a worthwhile purchase. However, our experts found that the airflow created by this standing fan was almost imperceptible except when on its maximum speed, making all of its lower settings essentially useless. While we liked its appearance, this fan ended up being quite heavy and difficult to maneuver, too, making it unfit for recommendation.
